Mango Jello Recipe

Mangoes are in season, use those juicy ripe mangoes to make this delicious kids friendly mango jello. Mangoes taste amazing in desserts, check my other amazing mango desserts. This mango jello is also known as mango jelly, mango gelatin. It is made with ripe mangoes, sugar, gelatin, lemon juice which is set in individual moulds. Equipment

  • Sauce Pan & Whisk
  • Pudding Moulds
  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Ripe Mango Puree
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • tbsp Gelatin
  • ½ cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice

Instructions

  • Take mangoes and peel them. Cube them and take it in a blender and puree till smooth without adding water. Set this aside.
  • Take gelatin in a bowl, cover with ¼ cup of water. Let them soak for 10 mins. Take them in a sauce pan. Now heat on a low till it is melted completely.
  • Take sugar, ½ cup water in a sauce pan and heat till the sugar is melted. Now add in the gelatin, mango puree and lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Pour this into individual moulds and set them in fridge for 3 to 5 hours. De mould and serve.

Notes

  • Use ripe sweet mangoes in this recipe, which makes this delicious.
  • Adjust sugar according to the sweetness of mangoes. If your mangoes are less sweet, use less sugar.
  • Instead of gelatin, you can use agar agar powder. Check measurements below. 
  • Allow the pudding to rest for atleast 3 to 4 hours to set.
  • This jelly taste great when served cold. 

Storage & Serving

Mango jello can be stored in fridge upto a week. You can enjoy this as it is or cut into small pieces and add in beverages. 

How to Use Agar Agar in Mango Jelly

I have a separate post for mango jelly made using agar agar. You can check that post for detailed recipe. But if you want to substitute agar agar powder in this recipe, you can add 1 tsp of agar agar powder in the sugar mixture when heating and proceed with the recipe.
