Preheat oven to 160 degree c or 325 degree f. Line a standard loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside.
Take wheat flour, ground cinnamon, salt, baking soda, baking powder in a bowl and mix well. Set this aside.
Take butter, brown sugar and regular sugar in a bowl and mix until creamy. Now add in vanilla and eggs and whisk until combined. Now add in the flour mixture and fold gently. Pour in buttermilk and fold until combined. Now add in chocolate chips and fold gently.
Spoon the batter into the loaf pan, spread evenly. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and place it into the oven. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour. Insert a toothpick to check whether the cake is baked or not. Remove the cake from oven, cool for 15 minutes in the tin. Once cooled unmould, slice and serve.

You can use plain flour instead of wheat flour for better texture.
Oil can be used instead of butter.
Chopped nuts like pecans, walnuts or almonds can be added into the batter.
You can bake the cake in a round or square cake pan, the baking time will vary.
Don’t over bake the cake, else it may get dry.

You can store the baked cake in an air tight container at room temperature for 2 days. Store in fridge upto a week. Serve chocolate chip banana bread with a cup of tea, coffee or milk.
