Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Oil - 1 tblspn
  • 1 tsp Shahi Jeera
  • 1 large Onions chopped finely
  • 2 large Potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed roughly
  • 3 large Tomatoes pureed
  • 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 cup Green Peas i used frozen
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a kadai or sauce pan. Add in shahi jeera. Let them sizzle for a min.
  • Add onions and cook till golden. Add ginger garlic paste and mix well. Add in tomato puree and cook till it thickens. Add in all the spice powders. Cook it for few minutes till oil separates from the mix. Add in water and mix well, bring it to a full boil.
  • Add in potatoes, salt and sugar. Mix well. Now add in the peas and simmer for 5 to 6 mins. Mix well. Simmer for 10 mins. Turn the heat off and serve.Serve with roti.

Notes

  • You can use fresh peas, frozen or dried peas.
  • use shallots instead of onions. 
  • You can use readymade tomato puree instead of tomato puree.
