Malai Kofta Recipe with Step by Step Pictures. Vegetable paneer dumplings cooked in a creamy tomato sauce.
It is one of the well known dish that everyone have their own way of making it..You could add any vegetables in this but I used only some of them..If you want to avoid frying those koftas you could even bake it in oven for 30 mins.
Ingredients for Malai Kofta
- Paneer-1 cup grated
- Potato-1 cup boiled and mashed
- Carrot-½ cup grated
- Green chilli-1 chopped finely
- Onion-1 sliced
- Tomtoes-3 chopped
- Ginger-1 inch piece
- Garlic-6 cloves
- Cashew-3 tblspn
- Red chilli powder-1 tsp
How to Make Malai Kofta at Home
- In a mixing bowl add all ingredients given for koftas except oil..Mix well and divide into equal portions and form into balls..Coat the balls with cornflour and deep fry in oil till golden.Drain and set aside.
- In a frying pan drizzle 1 tblspn of oil..Add in cashew pieces, garlic, ginger, onions and cook till golden.
- Add in chilli and coriander powder and mix well.Add in tomatoes and give it a stir.
- Let this cool down. Now grind it into a smooth paste.
- Now heat 2 tblspn of oil in the same kadai and add cumin seeds and allow it to splatter.
- Add in the ground masala and cook till oil separates from this. Pour in curd and milk and mix well.
- Add in kishmish and garam masala powder and mix well. Bring this to boil and simmer for 3 min.
- Add the kofta and garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve immediately.

Ingredients
- For Koftas:

- Corn flour-1 cup
- Oil for deep frying
- For Kofta Sauce:
- Onion-1 sliced
- Tomtoes-3 chopped
- Ginger-1 inch piece
- Garlic-6 cloves
- Cashew-3 tblspn
- Red chilli powder-1 tsp
- Coriander powder / Malli podi-1 tblspn
- Garam masala powder-1 tsp
- Cumin seeds-1 tsp
- Raisans /Kishmish /Sultanas-3 tblspn
- Milk-1 cup
- Curd- ½ cup
- Coriander leaves / Cilantro-for garnishing
- Salt to taste
- Sugar-1 tsp
- Oil-3 tblspn

Hey sorry, did u use fresh curd or sour curd. and if it is cream can i use regular cream or does it have to be the heavy cream?
