About Fresh Fruit Popsicles
I started making these Popsicles during the summer, especially for the kids in my family who didn’t always want to eat fruit. Turns out, putting fruit on a stick makes it way more fun! You don’t need any special tools for this. A regular blender, strainer, and any kind of popsicle mould will do. And if you don’t have moulds, even paper cups with ice cream sticks work perfectly.
Why I Like This Recipe - Honestly, this recipe brings back a lot of childhood memories for me. Back then, we didn’t even have a freezer at home for a while, so I’d carry my popsicle moulds over to our neighbour’s house and ask if I could use theirs. I still remember the excitement of opening their freezer the next day and seeing my little fruit pops all frozen and ready — it felt like such a big achievement. Even now, when I make these, there’s something nostalgic about it. It reminds me of those simple summer days. They’re refreshing, gently sweet, and honestly feel like a small celebration of summer every time you take a bite.
The only real prep is blending the grapes to make a simple juice and slicing up some fruits. Once you pour everything into the moulds and let them freeze, the result is a fresh, fruity Popsicles that looks great and tastes even better. It's such a satisfying little project — and really fun to make, especially with kids around.
I really enjoy seeing everything come together at the end — it kind of feels like a little art project from childhood, but this time, you get to eat it! And don’t worry if you don’t have every single fruit. You can easily use whatever you have at home or what’s in season. Things like pineapple, blueberries, or even pomegranate all work really well.

Why This Recipe Works
– Natural Sweetness: If your grapes are nice and ripe (which they usually are in summer), you honestly don’t even need to add sugar. But if you feel like it needs a little boost, just a spoon or two of sugar is more than enough, way better than those store bought ones loaded with artificial stuff.
– No Artificial Stuff: Everything in these popsicles is made from real, fresh ingredients — just fruits and homemade juice. No added colors, no artificial flavors, and nothing weird. It’s just simple, clean food that you can actually feel good about eating or sharing with others.
– Customisable: You really don’t have to stick to the fruits mentioned in the recipe. If you don’t have mangoes, you can easily swap in bananas. No strawberries? Pomegranate seeds or even apple slices work great too. You can mix and match based on what’s in season or whatever’s sitting in your fridge.
– Make-Ahead Friendly: These are perfect if you like to prep things in advance. Just slice the fruits, pour the juice, and freeze. They’ll be ready whenever you want a cool treat — whether that’s for a weekend get-together or just when you’re craving something light and refreshing late at night.
Ingredients

Green Grapes : These form the juice base of the popsicles. If your grapes are sweet (which they often are in summer), you won’t need to add any sugar. But if they’re a bit tart, just mix in 1–2 teaspoons of sugar while blending. That’s usually enough.
Water : Just a little, to help blend the grapes smoothly. Too much water can make the juice too thin, so go easy. The idea is to get a thick, flavourful juice.
Strawberries : Wash them, remove the green tops, and slice them up. They add alovely red colour and a sweet-tangy bite to the popsicles. Kids especially love spotting the strawberry pieces.
Mango : Peel and cut it into small cubes. Mango gives that smooth, creamy texture and a soft sweetness that balances well with the other fruits.
Kiwi : Peel and slice them into thin rounds or halves. Kiwi has a nice light tart flavour and looks really pretty when frozen into the popsicles.
Black or Red Grapes (optional): These aren’t a must, but if you have them, add a few whole ones. They freeze well and give a nice pop of sweetness when you bite into them.

Hacks
– Use up leftover fruits: Sometimes we’re left with a few slices of mango, half a kiwi, or a handful of grapes. Instead of letting them go to waste, just pop them into a small container or ziplock bag and freeze them.
– Add mint or edible flowers: If you’re making these for guests or just want to make them feel a bit more special, try adding a few fresh mint leaves into the moulds. It makes them look extra pretty, and the mint gives a light, fresh taste.
– Want something lighter than juice? You can totally use flavoured water instead of juice. Just let some basil leaves or lemon slices sit in water for a while, then use that as your base. It’s super refreshing and perfect if you want to keep things light.
– No popsicle moulds? No problem: You don’t need anything fancy. Paper cups, steel tumblers, or even small silicone cupcake moulds can work. Just cover them with foil and poke a wooden stick through. It sets just as well and tastes just as good.

Expert Tips
– Cooling Tip: Once you blend the grapes and make your juice, let it cool down a bit before pouring it over the fruits. If the juice is warm or hot, it can soften the fruits or make them look cloudy after freezing.
– Use Ripe Fruits for Better Texture: If your fruits are underripe or not juicy enough, your popsicles might turn out too icy. Go for fresh, ripe fruits — they freeze better and taste great too.

FAQ
Q: Can I use ready-made grape juice instead of homemade?
A: You can. Just go for 100% grape juice with no added sugar or flavourings if possible. That said, homemade juice gives a fresher taste and makes the popsicles look more clear and pretty.
Q: What if I don’t have popsicle moulds?
A: No problem. Use paper cups, silicone cupcake moulds, or even small steel tumblers. Cover the top with foil and poke a popsicle stick through the center — works just as well.
Q: Do I have to add sugar?
A: Not at all. If your fruits are sweet, especially the grapes, you can skip sugar completely. If needed, you can add a little honey or a teaspoon of sugar — it’s totally up to your taste.
Variations
– Tropical Twist
For a more tropical flavour, you can add a bit of coconut water to the grape juice. Or, try blending some pineapple juice along with the grapes — it adds a natural sweetness and a sunny, beachy feel to the popsicles.
– Layered Popsicles
If you have some extra time and patience, try freezing your popsicles in layers. Add one type of fruit with a bit of juice, freeze for a couple of hours, then add the next layer. Keep going until the mould is full. It creates a cool striped effect and each bite tastes a little different.
– Yogurt + Fruit Combo
Want something creamy? Add plain or vanilla yogurt between the fruit layers. It balances out the sweetness and gives a creamy texture, kind of like a frozen smoothie on a stick.
– Herb-Infused Refreshment
Fresh herbs can make a big difference. Try adding a few mint leaves or crushed basil into the juice or directly into the moulds. It adds a refreshing touch — perfect for hot days.

Fresh Fruit Popsicles Recipe
Equipment
- Popsicle Mould
- Blender
- Strainer
Ingredients
For Grape Juice
- 3 cups Green Grapes
- 2 tsp Sugar if needed
Fruits to Use
- 10 no Strawberries sliced thinly
- 1 no Mangoes peeled and sliced
- 1 no Kiwi peeled and sliced thinly
- 10 no Black Grapes cleaned
Instructions
- Prep the Fruits (10 minutes) - Start by washing all your fruits properly. Slice up the kiwi, strawberries, and mango into small pieces — small enough to fit into your popsicle moulds. Keep them ready on a plate or in bowls.
- Make the Grape Juice Base - Add 2 to 3 cups of green grapes to a blender with just a little water — just enough to help it blend smoothly. Blend until you get a thick juice. Strain the juice using a fine strainer to remove any pulp. You can also skim off any foam on top to keep the juice clear.
- Assemble the Popsicles - Take your popsicle moulds (or paper cups or tumblers). Add a mix of fruits into each one. Pour in the grape juice slowly so it fills up all the gaps. If there are air bubbles, gently press the fruit down with a spoon to help the juice settle.
- Freeze Time - Place the lid on each mould (or cover with foil), insert the sticks, and pop them into the freezer. Let them freeze for at least 8 hours or overnight. Just be patient — the results are totally worth it.
- Un-mould and Enjoy - When they’re frozen solid, run the mould under tap water for a few seconds. The popsicles should slide out easily. Serve them right away, or keep them in an airtight container in the freezer for later.
