Vazhakkai fry Recipe with step by step pictures. In this recipe raw bananas are sliced, coated with spice powders and cooked over tawa. And it turns out so tasty.

I always have some raw bananas in my fridge,because they come handy all the time. They taste so delicious when made into poriyal, fry or piratal.

Ingredients for Vazhakkai Roast
- Raw Banana - 2
- Salt to taste
- Oil for pan frying
For Masala:
- Coconut - 3 tblspn grated
- Fennel Seeds / Sombu / Saunf - 1 tsp
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
- Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - ½ tsp
- Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Water little as needed


How to Make Vazhakkai Roast
- Take raw banana, peel em and slice them at a angle, so you end up with a long slices.
- Boil water with salt in a sauce pan, once it reaches a boil, add in the banana and cook till the banana is tender. it will take around 3 to 4 mins.
- Drain it and allow it to cool down.
- Take masala ingredients in a blender and make it into a fine paste.
- Apply the masala all over the banana, and leave it to marinate for 10 mins.
- Heat oil for pan frying. Add the marinated bananas in oil and fry till crispy on both sides.
- Drain and serve.
